Getting there
By Air : Nearest airport is Mumbai 140 kms.
By Rail : Nearest railhead is Panvel 90 kms.
By Road : Mumbai-Panvel-Pen-Alibag-Kihim 110 kms. Alibag-Murud 42 kms.
Pune-Khopoli-Pen-Alibag.
State Transport buses ply from Mumbai & Pune to Alibag, and Alibag to Murud.
By Sea : Regular ferry service between Mumbai-Rewas, Rewas is 6 kms. from Kihim. [Ferry service available daily except during monsoons].

Precautions to be taken when Going to Kulaba Fort - Alibag
Please check the Tide before going to visit the Kulaba fort, you can ask the policemen posted on the beach or check the board displaying the tide timings. You can visit the fort between the high and low tide. the maximum time you get is approximately 3 to 4 hours and that is enough to see the fort. Please take care as a lot of people have died while returning from the fort after beginning of high tide and because of not taking proper precautions while coming back.

Visiting Janjira Fort
Janjira fort is located at Rajapur near Murud and the ferry boat service to the fort is run by a co-operative society. You can go in the boat with other passengers by purchasing tickets at the ticket window or you can also hire a separate boat for extra charges. It is better to fix the charges to be paid to the tourist guides in the fort beforehand.
